Happy Solsitice: September 21 st was the first day of fall, and to commemorate this important turning point in the year we joined forces with an army of people in the cannabis industry to clean Venice Beach. Together with Rose Collective Venice and about 25 brands we picked up over 200 lbs of trash from the beach. Not only did we prevent all of that garbage from entering the ocean, but we participated in the California Coastal Cleanup with a strong showing of unity.
We Care: One of the most pernicious myths about people who love to consume cannabis is that we only care about getting stoned. Based on the numbers of people who showed up early on a Saturday morning to clean up the beach, we can safely say that the Cannabis Community cares about cleaning the beach. We care about the environment and all of the cool and colorful animals big and small.
We Can Help: So much of the news we hear every day is disconcerting to say the least. While there are undeniably some serious problems facing humans at this point in history, seeing people come together to help take care of the beach is a really positive sign. When the Cannabis Community comes together it is an impressive show of strength. With unity, we can improve any situation.
We Are Organized: If nothing else, the fact that we cleaned up more trash than any of the other spots along the coast shows that we effectively organized our event. Just because we love to have fun doesn’t mean that we can’t also be responsible and show leadership when it comes to being stewards of the environment.
We Love California: If you want to make positive change, then you need to tend to the garden that you can touch. As a California licensed Cannabis brand, we feel a responsibility to help take care of this great state. It’s exciting to see so many businesses joining in the good fight: to keep Cali golden.
We Will Return: This is only the beginning. We plan to continue our beach cleaning efforts and to join forces with other brands. Together we can provide much needed leadership in our common cause: to help ocean animals avoid our toxic contaminants.
